Artist's Comments

This one has been in the works for some time. It’s proved to be one of those things that never seem to be finished. Even now I’m not entirely happy with it.

Weighing in at a little over 400,000 polygons not including the NURBS objects, of which there are many, this was one of the heaviest scenes I've worked on for a while. Because it was so heavy rendering it proved difficult, it ended up being rendered in 33 layers over 4 days.

Absolutely wonderful! You've done an excellent job of making a scene that is alien and frightening, but at the same time strangely touching. The "child bots" have a definitive youthful feel to them, and the storyteller looks very parent-like despite being the most inhuman-looking robot in the whole group. I can't help but shake the feeling that a human would be the equivalent of "the monster under the bed" here. In any case, bravo - the work you put into this is evident.

Great one evilhomer.. I love your ideas.. how does it 'tell' the story though? communicate via voice synthesis.. or over radio waves? or is the story just integrated into a mainframe for all to access?
:)

wow i didnt know that Alienware and the matrix where made by the same company ((0º))' lol thats freaking crazy man, i do characters and the most I've ever worked with is maybe 30,000 in a complete scene. considering that my experiance is almost exclusively poly Thats suprising

you never cease to amaze me...though somehow the text of the book cover seems a little out of place...

Love the idea, but can't say I love the finish. But yeah i probably wouldn't even be able to load that into my pc, let alone model it.

Anyway great work, hope to see the finished result soon, seems promising.
